Hello,

my name is Pietro Pellicelli, I’m an italian engineer and footwear designer.

I've completed my school and academic formation obtaining a master's degree in civil engineering (building design and calculation) at the University of Parma, Italy.

Since day one, my father, at that time an amateur football coach, infused me and my brother a deep passion for all the sports (football, track and field, tennis, basketball, motorsports and, basically, everthing you could play or watch on TV).

In the middle of the '80s, sparked by an exciting evolution in the department, I've became very curious about sports footwear and I've also started designing it, just as I was already designing everthing a kid dreams of: cars, motorcycles, buildings, superheroes. etc.

While my technical formation was progressing at school, it supported my growing interest in shoes, which also developed in the dissection of my worn out pairs (RIP), necessary to better understand how they were built.

My passions also ranged from the creation of internet websites, video/photography and editing, design of my basketball team's uniforms, etc.

With the advent of the internet, thanks to specific forums like Niketalk.com, I was also able to connect with other footwear design geeks all over the world and better link my engineering methodology with my footwear design skills.

Kickguide.com online design contests allowed me to contact and be mentored by top class footwear designer at the peak of Nike, Adidas and Fila brands. This experience also helped me to land my first design job with australian startup brand Hops, to launch their brand, setting up their logos, designing and developing their basketball footwwear and apparel product, working from remote, with strategic meeting when needed.

After 20+ Years of passion and work experience, I've became a rigorous and eclectic designer but also a sneaker enthusiast and historian, witnessing by first hand the amazing evolution in this sector.
